Such a variable. . time! It can race along like a cheetah in the savannah or a train rolling down the track. OR it can creep along like a giant tortoise plodding along a sandy beach. BUT in a hospital. . . time nearly stands still. . . tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock. The beating of a heart, the tears of sadness, the frustration of helplessness seem to engulf you. The pacing back and forth. . . .
Are the minutes still sixty seconds? Are the hours still sixty minutes? You walk. You go to the gift shop just to kill time . . . maybe buy and magazine or newspaper. You can’t focus on the words. You stare out the window, you pray . . . and then you do all that again!
Spend some time in a hospital and you will understand!
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock!
